I come from a conservative family, well-knit, one of three,close to my siblings,middle child (sans middle-child syndrome 😂). Born and raised in Jeddah for the first 15 years of my life. Then life took me on a trip from Dubai to Brussels to London. 🙃 I like to present myself as multi-ethnic in origin, mainly because it sounds cool, but also I really am (Iraqi /Syrian, Kurdish/Arabic to mention a few). It's rare that we can see ourselves as others see us but here's my attempt at this: I'd like to think of myself as a caring human, in other words I have a mushy heart. (My sister keeps asking me to stop being بسكوت ويفر) I have many good friends and a few very close ones. I speak my mind when the situation calls for it but I try to be careful not to hurt others or impose my views. I love my freedom.I seek my Lord and seek to know who I am... I enjoy deep debates..I contemplate about human nature and behaviour I'm not a hermit but I enjoy being still at home for days on end and oscillate between that and sprees of socialising with peeps, going out for walks and hopping on family road trips. I don't read as much my mind would like to, don’t travel as much as my soul would seek to ...I played daf on occasions. I have a background in psychology and worked in a few related vocations. I volunteered for Muslim Youth Helpline, because I feel this is a much needed service in our community. I have a passion for religious studies and started a Masters degree in Islamic studies. Islamic values are pivotal in my life but I believe in a cocktail of views from different cultures and religious schools of thought. I may have a good sense of humour although it seems many of my family members disagree but I think what matters is that I can laugh at my own jokes. 😁
