I left the church at 10 years old, in the year 2000, it took me 21 years to realize that Allah had not abandoned me like they said. I took my first Shahada on 12/21/2021. Alhamdulillah. I took my official Shahada with Imam at the Masjid last November. I am grateful that Allah chose me to guide back into Islam. Until recently I was a musician and artist, I sacrificed music for Islam publicly on my birthday in September. Art for the most part, as well, but I will still draw. Now I am focused on learning to become fluent in Arabic.
