Bismillah. I see Islam as a comprehensive way of life, guiding our actions, decisions, and relationships. While we may stray at times, it's important not to compromise our beliefs in order to feel better about ourselves. Instead, we should acknowledge where we've gone wrong, seek to correct it, and remain committed to staying steadfast. As humans, we're naturally prone to mistakes, but the key is repentance and a sincere effort to return to the straight path. I feel it's important to share that from the start. That doesn’t mean I am perfect or expect perfection from anyone. It simply means I don’t believe in compromising our beliefs to make ourselves feel more comfortable about doing something we know we shouldn’t be doing. The journey of striving to become a better muslim is ongoing, may Allah keep us committed to it every day. People who know me well would describe me as caring, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. I believe in the importance of honesty, understanding, and respectful communication in all relationships, and value meaningful connections and the kind of comfort that comes from trust and mutual respect. While I take my faith seriously, I also enjoy this life in halal. I enjoy an adventure—be it a trip, a hike, or trying something new—as well as appreciate the cosiness of a more intimate quality time—whether that’s having meaningful conversations, sharing a nice dinner, or enjoying a peaceful walk. Professionally, I’m an engineer and applied mathematician, and hence, I tend to be quite logical, precise and organized. I love to maintain a peaceful environment, both in my personal space and in my day-to-day life, and things like tidiness, cleanliness and taking care of personal and surroundings hygiene are important to me. I’m not a minimalist, but that’s something I would like to explore bit by bit, no obsession. I value balance in life—working toward a simpler, more intentional lifestyle while still embracing moments of adventure and discovery and making room for growth. I’ve lived in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto; I’m bilingual in Arabic and English, and currently working on improving my French. Ultimately, my goal is to build a life that aligns with my values—one where I continue to grow, make meaningful connections, live with purpose, and eventually reach the akhirah safely (amen).
