I am not interested in mainstream culture that is to say I try to avoid what is meant to be avoided of it. I do not listen to music in any capacity nor do I watch television/movies. I do enjoy National Geographic documentaries or anything related to reflecting on the wonders Allah has created. I try to fill my spare time with being productive and using my time in various constructive manners and that centers around Islamic learning as before mentioned and other hobbies such as writing poetry. I also enjoy nature including hiking and camping. As a wife my “ career goals” would be staying at home and taking care of my husband and our family إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللَّٰهُ, so if you’re looking for a “Modern Muslim woman” to help you financially or go 50/50 I’m not the one. Narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Islam initiated as something strange, and it would revert to its (old position) of being strange. so good tidings for the stranger.
