I reverted to Islam years ago and was very religious for a long time. I wore abaya and hijab for several years, not to please a man but to please Allah. I was still a Christian when I started studying Islam at the mosque, even before my conversion, because I wanted to be sure I was ready to revert. At this point in my life I remain in my faith, but I am not as religious as I was. However, while I strive to be a better muslim, I continue to live modestly and respectfully.
