انحصر النظر إلى جمال الإنسان من خلال المظهر فقط، وهي نظرة مغلوطة إلى الجمال الإنساني، لأن تقييم هذا الأخير يجب أن ينطلق من معايير أخرى تضع الإنسان في وضع يليق به، ثم لأن النظرة مبنية على تقييم الجسد فقط، وبالتالي فهي ليست أكثر من نظرة سبقية تقلل من شأن المشاعر الإنسانية، ليصير بذلك المرء حيوانا مهووسا بغريزته، وهو الأمر الذي يؤكد أن الاهتمام بالجسد يفوق الاهتمام بأمور أخرى أرقى من الجسد، وليس لهذا الاهتمام أي علاقة بالجانب المشاعري، بل إن هذا الاهتمام نابع من دوافع الإنسان لإشباع مكبوتاته، وكل ما يجد الإنسان نفسه محروما منه، هذه النظرة يتقاسمها كلا الجنسين، فالرجال في الغالب ينجذبون لجسد المرأة أكثر من انجذابهم لتفكيرها ونظرتها إلى الحياة، كما أن النساء بدورهن ينجذبن إلى جسد الرجل إذا لم أضف إلى ذلك ممتلكاته وأمواله، وقلما تجد فتاة تنجذب إلى تفكير الرجل، وعندما تجد امرأة أو فتاة تمتلك هذه النظرة، فلعلها استثناء، ونفس الشيء بالنسبة للرجل، ولطالما كان الاستثنائيون رائعون ونادرون. يبدو أن ما يحدد نظرة الإنسان مرتبط بالمظاهر أكثر من ارتباطه بأمور أخرى تستقيم مع حقيقة الإنسان، إذ من خلال ما يبدو عليك، سيتم تصنيفك، وأنت مصنف في جميع الأحوال حتى تتبث حقيقتك. ولقد كان أمرا طبيعيا أن يكترث الرجل لجسد الأنثى بل ويطمع فيه أكثر من اهتمامه بشخصيتها وما إلى ذلك، وكان طبيعيا أيضا أن يكون اهتمام المرأة بالرجل لا يتعدى ما يظهر عليه، أما الغوص في الأعماق وما يتحدد به الإنسان فتلك لا تثير الاهتمام، فبقدر ما أضحت المظاهر هي التي تُعرّفنا على الآخر، كانت ولازالت هذه المظاهر خدّاعة، فكان واقعيا أن نشاهد هذا الكم الهائل من الخداع يُمارس بين البشر تحت مسميات أخرى، ذلك أن تلك النظرة السبقية لجسد الأنثى والتي تتأسس على المظاهر، وتلك النظرة المليئة بالرغبة والطمع، والتي تمتلكها بعض الإناث هي نظرة تقتل قيمة المشاعر التي ينبغي أن نؤسس من خلالها علاقتنا بالآخر، لكن المشاعر لم يعد يشعر بها إلا الاستثنائيون، أولئك الذين قادهم وعيهم نحو اختيار الطرق الصحيحة والصادقة في ممارسة الحياة
