M name is Aini. I have been divorced for almost five years now. I have two children from two different marriages. One is 12 years old and the other is 5 years old. I have one son and one daughter. I have been living in Johor Bahru for more than 30 years. At the moment, I am self-employed. Previously, I worked as an architect in Singapore for about five to seven years. When I went through my divorce, I started looking for alternatives on how I could survive — how to have a place to stay and how to generate income. Eventually, I ventured into selling jewellery online, which later grew into having a physical shop. I was in the jewellery business for about nine years. I eventually had to close the business due to the economic situation and also because this was what Allah had destined for me. Now, I am rebuilding my life again. In this phase of my life, I often feel lonely. I am looking for companionship and, at the same time, hoping to find a life partner who can be a father figure to my children. I pray to Allah that if He grants me a partner, that person will not be someone else’s husband. I also pray that he will be able to accept me together with my children, and to treat my children as his own. I am not ready to relocate anywhere else because our source of income is here, and my children are schooling in Johor Bahru.
