I’ve had many ups and downs in my life, and many bouts of depression. Because of this checkered past, I don't trust people easily and I can be emotionally jaded. However, by the grace of Allah, Imen heals all my wounds. My faith in Allah is strong, and in my forties I finally find myself content and loving life. I have an associate degree in computer science and a Bachelor’s in English. I work for an Islamic bookstore in Europe remotely from Canada. I do their digital marketing, translation and customer service in Arabic, English and French. Islam and literature are the 2 things I cherish the most. So this job is very fulfilling for me alhamdulilleh, as I'm constantly immersed in Islamic books. And as a bonus, I get to talk to and help Muslim brothers and sisters from all over the world every day - and not any Muslims: fellow readers and seekers of knowledge. God is great. I am in the process of getting permanent residence in Canada insha’Allah, and I will stay in Canada until I acquire a passport (perhaps 3 more years). After that, I intend to move to Malaysia as an expat or as a digital nomad. Insha’Allah this will give me enough time to learn Bahasa Malay and to meet my future Malaysian wife online :) Hopefully she is a fellow introvert who takes her religion seriously and who likes reading.
