For many people, Russia seems like one single Russian nation, but in reality it is a country with more than a hundred nationalities, languages, and cultures. There are many different regions, including national republics, which are somewhat like autonomous regions within a large country. Outside Russia we are all considered Russians, but inside the country people are very different from each other in language, culture, and religion.
