I'm the dangerous sort; the sort that most women claim that they want, and then run terrified from once they have. But I would never intentionally cause anyone pain. I know pain intimately... My adoptive parents went insane with Alzheimer's when I was 35 (two years ago). As their only child I had to become their guardian, but in the end the courts betrayed me and my family stole my birthright and my inheritance. I have no idea who my birth parents are. Many of my closest friends from my college years are dead from drug overdoses, violence, or suicide: all before the age of 35. My surviving "friends" from my worldly life have all abandoned me; and the few friends that I've made in the Ummah keep letting me down. The love of my life is dead; and we didn't part on the best of terms... My best teachers and mentors all passed before their time. My closest cousins who I grew up with like brothers were murdered under mysterious circumstances while the oldest was on leave from the Pentagon the day before we were going to meet to seal a business deal together, their bodies burned along with their family home. I've watched the little girl that I loved as a daughter grow up only to tread down a road that I know will lead her to a spiritual crisis and find myself powerless to stop it. She's already renounced her faith and chosen atheism... That's an overview of the past two years. That's the tip of the iceberg. But I AM NOT and REFUSE to be bitter! I'm just being real about this dunya. "Suffering is a treasure for it contains mercies." - Rumi And sorrow is the mark of an awakened heart. - Me I have my faith; I remember my Lord DAILY and DEEPLY; and I KEEP STRIVING TO BE A LIGHT in this dark world... I smile when I have a reason; and Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala gives me reasons every day. I know how to look for them and am searching for someone to share that skill with. I give positivity in everything I do. I am sacrificing my desires to the will of Allah. That is Eternal; that is why we are here; that is all that matters.
