I'm a movie buff and there's quite a few. Too many to name them really. My mind went blank thinking about it. :(
Al Quran. I also like reading books on history, non fictions, fictions, Sci-fi, Self Learning books, theological books, biography...hmmm, it seems I read almost anything that I lay my hands on. I just love reading, that's all.
Anything that tastes good and are halal of course. It really depends on my mood on that particular day. I love trying out food from different cultures. I like to eat Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Mexican, Italian, Arabian, Continental, Thai or just plain simple grilled chicken with mashed potato/ baked potato with sour cream or a good old sirloin/T-bone steak with steamed vegetables. I love eating burgers with french fries too. The only food I usually avoid are seafood, especially shrimp, I'm allergic to shrimp.
Anasheed, Maher Zain, I used to love listening to different pop/rock/R&B's like Green Day, Nickelback, Black Eyed Peas, Outkast etc, but I don't listen to them anymore as I found that the more I listen to them the harder it gets to get unhooked from them. Allah save me from the fitnah.
I'm very careful about the things I wear. It has to be matching or else I wouldn't wear them. I'm a big fan of shoes and I only wear black shoes with black socks. I usually wear a suit, sometimes with ties and sometimes without ties. I prefer black pants and black belts and one color shirts instead of checks or patterns. I hardly wear sandals except if I'm at the beach and it's been quite a few years that I've wore jeans. I wear polo t-shirts sometimes when I'm home.
I've been told that I've a great sense of humor and I kind of believe them too. :) I smile a lot and I do find humor in a lot of things in my everyday life. I do take serious things seriously but I like to simplify things and find humor in it. I think I have a witty sense of humor sometimes mixed with harmless sarcasm. Allah knows best.
Traveling, reading, listening to Quran recitation, reciting the Holy Quran in the most nicest way I can, movies, baking and sometimes eating out at nice restaurants. I love to eat and I love to feed others too. :) Oh, I have a keen interest in learning languages. Living in the west for a while has definitely made my English a bit better, besides English and Bengali (my mother tongue) I know Hindi, Urdu, a little bit of Thai and Mandarin. I also know a bit of French and currently I'm learning conversational Arabic. I just love learning languages.
Ah, there's quite a few, Alhamdulillah I've been able to travel quite extensively for work, studies and for vacations with my parents as a child. I've been to the US, the UK, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, Turkey, Austria and a few more countries in Europe, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia and some south Asian countries like India, Nepal, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, China. I would really like to perform Hajj with my wife soon insha'Allah.
Alhamdulillah, I believe I'm very adaptive of partners from a different culture. Actually, I prefer someone from a different culture. Other cultures and other cultural people have always fascinated me and I'm always intrigued to know more about them.
A vacation to a beach resort where there's no one except me and my wife and the wonderful beauty of the nature that Allah swt has created, a long walk at the beach holding each others hand with our bare feet above the warm, soft and wet sand, a long drive at night when the streets are empty and cool breeze blowing our hair, a candle light dinner in a fancy restaurant with soft romantic music playing in the background or just staying home, relaxing under the blanket being cozy and watching a movie together.
I personally think that I'm someone who likes to be involved in everything and doesn't back off from anything. I somehow end up being the centre of any meeting not because I'm loud or lousy but I feel people and friends somehow gets attached to my conversation. Hmmm, maybe it's my husky manly voice, lol..j/k. (not kidding about the husky/manly voice though, haha) Well, I have a soft corner for babies and I can't stand them crying. I feel emotionally challenged when I hear or see my brothers or sisters are in crisis. I love helping out others with whatever I can, Allah knows best and I seriously hope this does not come along as me bragging about myself. I feel Allah swt has been really kind to me and has given me SO much that I can never finish praising him even if I got a million years to live. I feel it is a test from Allah swt to see how I help others in their crisis and I always feel that I'm lacking behind. May Allah help me to contribute more. I love dawah work and I run two institutions which are really close to my heart. One is for poor families who sends their children to learn the holy Quran and another one is a small orphanage with kids ranging from 2 to 12 years old. I also try to contribute as much as I can to my community through participating and organizing different events. Honest, sincere, patient, hard working and having a smile on my face most of the time sums up my personality I guess.
A person who really knows and understands the importance of a marriage and how to work on a marriage. Someone who isn't selfish and understands that their actions can hurt others in the long run. I would want my perfect match to lead a life of a good Muslimah to whom her husband and children comes after Allah and our beloved Prophet (Peace be upon him). She should strive to work with me to attain Jannah in the hereafter/eternal life and help our children to be a good Muslim.
